STAFF
The medieval castle has belonged to the VCP Scout and Guide Association for more than 50 years. It offers 134 indoor beds all year around and is run by a full time staff (mixed paid and volunteer). There is also a small campsite.
Tasks include campsite management, maintenance work, guest services and providing programme support. Our activity programme focuses on medieval and outdoor activities. Staff can use the existing activity programme and are asked to develop their own ideas.
Popular activities include tours of the keep, crafts and games (led by voluntary staff), high-ropes course, canoeing and abseiling (led by professional instructors). The castle has a disco and a playing field.

The work of voluntary staff depends on the guests and on the staff memberâs skills.
The voluntary staff work closely with the full time staff, led by the Camp Director.

Both men and women may apply. Volunteers must speak English, knowledge of German is also desirable. One post is available for a full year, two others available in the summer season. Staff can take two days off per week.
